client-side font rendering very very slow in X.org xserver 1.5.3 w/r200: massive fetches from VRAM, why?

No change there: KDE 3.5.9 across the board, although ironically one of
my try-this-and-see-if-it-fixes-it attempts was going to be a KDE
upgrade to 4.2, good thing I didn't try... (in fact there is only one
system.)

(Plus, that's a sysprof trace from a system using XAA :) I'd expect this
use of Render to be accelerated on this card: it was under 1.4.2. Or at
least it was very much faster.)
