buttons 1,2,3 are always LMR, simply because we're in a transition phase
where even if our device only had one physical button we'd still initialize
more so that the standard button mapping is maintained. otherwise, we'd
break clients because right now no-one cares about button labels.
hence also the 4/5/6/7 mouse-wheel mapping, this won't go away anytime soon.

So getting the labels right is mostly candy now anyway, and getting them
for the ones after 7 is something we can worry about in the future, but
don't have to worry about right now.
