I'm not sure what *the* tearing issue is. Tearing sounds like a large
class of potential problems. Perhaps this is tearing with video or
something?

Either way, I'm not the person that knows that code, (hence why I was
asking for people to subit features and bug fixes to improve the release
announcement). Hopefully someone will step up and answer your question.

Otherwise, since you're obviously interested in this issue and want to
watch to see if it gets fixed in a particular release, a good way for
you to be able to do that is to find an existing bug report (or create a
new one if none exists) that describes the specific issue you care
about.

And I should mention that we have a release-tracking bug that we're
using as we approach the 2.7.0 release. (And this URL will remain valid
for future releases as well.):

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/buglist.cgi?quicksearch=intel-2d-release

Bugs listed in the "Depends on" list there are things that either have
been fixed already, (with the strikethrough), or that we plan to have
fixed for 2.7.0 (without the strikethrough).

Though of course, there are also many bugs that have already been fixed
that never appeared on that tracking bug.
