This looks like something to do with implicit redirect. Should be
re-tested w/ 1.11 as all of my composite changes weren't in 1.10.

Is this still valid? We (me and Pauli) touched quite a bit of the Xv
code, so things may have changed. IIRC all of those changes went into
1.10 already.

The offending commit got reverted for 1.11, no?
