I think the generic way to do this would be,

X -configure

and it should give you a xorg configuration file right there.

xorg.conf.new 

I think,

then you will want to run 

X -config xorg.conf.new

and if it works, rename it  

mv xorg.conf.new xorg.conf

and then put it in one of the following places probably
*/etc/X11/xorg.conf*

cp xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf

 The Xorg server config files can be found  in  a  range  of  locations.
These  are  documented fully in the xorg.conf(5) manual page.  The most
commonly used locations are shown here.

       /etc/X11/xorg.conf            Server configuration file.

       /etc/X11/xorg.conf-4          Server configuration file.

       /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d          Server configuration directory.

       /usr/lib/X11/xorg.conf.d      Server configuration directory.

       /var/log/Xorg.n.log           Server log file for display n.

       /usr/bin/∗                    Client binaries.

       /usr/lib/∗                    Libraries.

       /usr/share/fonts/X11/∗        Fonts.

       /usr/share/X11/XErrorDB       Client error message database.
