Niltze, all!
Since a while back I've built X on Debian from instructions at <
http://wiki.x.org/wiki/ModularDevelopersGuide/ >
Evidently script builds the Intel driver, which I have rebuilt singly for a
couple of releases.
Below is the pertinent lspci -k line showing the kernel driver I use:
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 2nd Generation Core
Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09)
Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Device 1658
Kernel driver in use: i915
I have used the Intel driver under both Enlightenment and GNOME
environments with no issues (no hangs even after prolonged use) running my
own kernel 3.11.x build.
Hope the info is useful.
Best Professional Regards.
