That is a reference to a patch that fixes the calamity resulting from
breaking out of the initial KMS probe early. The reason for the early
exit is due to a user override in position or mode in xorg.conf.
The choice you have is (a) not to use that xorg.conf, (b) use
Option "AccelMethod" "uxa" or (c) apply the patch (or update if you are
using a distribution that already ships that patch).
