DPMS switches to suspend too early

Hi,
When setting "xset dpms 20 40 60" my monitor switches to suspend after
20 seconds, even when pressing keys just before.
Then, in suspend-mode, when pressing a key again, the monitor switches
back to "On" for another 20 seconds.
How could I get the "normal" behaviour (switch to suspend 20s after last
key-press) please?
The input device is a "cx88 IR" remote control.
Please find here the output of "grep cx88 /var/log/Xorg.0.log"
(last time, that cx88 was loaded):

Further information:
- The value of 20s is only for testing, the value for real application
is much higher.
- lircd is using /dev/input/event11 too, for passing input events to VDR
TIA for any help,
--
Peter
