I have just received this bug rapport from my Linux Mint:
Error activating XKB configuration. It can happen under various circumstances: […].
As requested, I include the following:

- The result of xprop -root \ grep XKB : $ xprop -root | grep XKB

_XKB_RULES_NAMES_BACKUP(STRING) = "evdev", "pc105", "ch", "de_mac", ""
_XKB­_RULES_NAMES(STRING) = "evdev", "pc105", "ch", "de_mac", ""

- gsettings list-keys org.mate.peripherals-keyboard-xkb.kbd:

- layouts

- options

- model
