the location bar background is usually white but GUI widgets are not so
the icon looks crappy in your bookmarks.
it worked fine in mozilla with PNG, and my tolerance was extremely limited
for a Internet Explorer and the stupid attempt at lock-in by using ICO
(and their general lack of PNG support) so in my frustration I gave up my
reasonable efforts to support their crapfest of a browser and I took down
my ICO files and now will only use PNG favicons.
normally I'm all for making reasonable efforts to support all systems but
sometimes I just have to give up and put the blame where it belongs.
I've lost all tolerance for IE and Outlook, I no longer use them but still
have to suffer indirectly the viruses they cause.
I'm done, I wish I hadn't started this rant.
