I knew OpenOffice only supports exporting to SVG I wondered about that too
but I can see how with a bit of scripting to genrate PNGs of various sizes
it could work out pretty well.

Hopefully in the long term this project will serve as an incentive for
OpenOffice to add SVG import, or another open source project will add some
sort of export to OpenOffice.
