You may be right, but since our collective time is limited, let's put
our focus on doing the releases and getting some of the underlying
infrastructure up to snuff.  Then hopefully we'll have built up the
community large enough that getting a logo will be no problem.

Okay, I can get you added.  Send me your ssh public key and I'll forward
it to the freedesktop.org admins.  (Same to you Jonadab if you're
reading).

*Nod*  You're right that the idea of 'screenshots' is pretty
application-oriented.  I expect once we have an SVG browser, that the
importance of the screenshots will reduce.  However, it's likely that
having some "all at once" or "best of" views would be useful for people
to get a quick idea of what is there.  Also like you say, seeing some of
the applications using the clipart can be good PR all-around.
