Check it out! So, the people that have asked about becoming mirrors to our 
project, the best solution might be to provide a mirror to freedesktop.org which 
will in turn help us.

Overall, openclipart can be proven to provide no load on gabe.fd.o,
because the load it does incur is not only small enough to be absolutely
negligible, but also a statistical anomaly.

Load on gabe is generally around the 0.00 to 0.01 mark, and we have a
couple of gigabits outgoing from PDX (bounded by the pithy single
gigabit link from gabe to the switch); bandwidth is not an issue.

If you want to seek mirrors elsewhere, we encourage that, as the world
in general needs more mirrors.  But we are hoping to solve the mirror
problem with download.freedesktop.org, the code of which I am assured
will be ready soon.  It will provide secure facilities for everyone to
upload their tarballs/etc (using GPG), and will not be writable directly
by users.  This will give us a common structure so people can 'mirror
fd.o', and also take in all of the subprojects.
