Well, you have a few options. I would probably save the file to a
Postscript file (PS) and the use ps2pdf from the commandline to convert
it to PDF. They should be fine with a PDF.
Or, you could try to save to EPS and then open that from within
Freehand. If you have Adobe Illustrator, you should be able to open the
SVG in that program and then convert it to a PDF as well.
