i see my pages published under CC are showing in the results, so i 
wonder what triggers this inclusion: having the CC icon, a RDF section 
or being linked from commoncontent.org?

it looks like CC own search engine (http://search.creativecommons.org/) 
uses the RDF section - see this as an example:
