It would be best to remove any 'metadata' element that is a child
of the main 'svg' element, otherwise we end up with more than one
(which the SVG spec strongly recommends against), unless the two
'metadata' elements can be merged together.

The SVG spec also strongly recommends putting the 'metadata' element
at the beginning rather than the end.
