OpenOffice.org has been on our affiliates list, but I am not convinced
that it *belongs* there until the OpenOffice.org people resolve their
SVG import (or at least embed) issue(s):
http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=2497
http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=49991

Without at least one of these issues being resolved, using the clipart
in OpenOffice is cumbersome, requires additional software, and (if any
quality is desired, especially for printing) means rendering the
vector graphics into a raster format (PNG generally), which aside from
inflating their filesize also visibly degrades their print quality
(unless you render at positively *enormous* sizes, which sometimes I
do when quality really matters) and removes the ability to go back and
easily edit them. I do it on a regular basis, because there aren't a
lot of better options available, but it's a real pain.

(No, Word is not a better option. Its clipart integrates better, but
the way it handles tables and frames is even more cumbersome than what
I have to go through using clipart in OO.o; I use tables and frames a
*LOT* in my documents (especially in the library newsletters), so Word
really isn't a viable option, quite aside from the obvious platform
issue (which also is a big deal to me). I experimented with Scribus,
but I could not figure out how to get it to honor my system colors,
which is an accessibility requirement for me (and a real inconvenience
with Inkscape as well, but fortunately I use that only for much
shorter periods of time at a stretch, and on fewer documents if you
count only the ones I actually edit, not everything I open just to
export a PNG, which takes no time).)
