I think having Firefox be able to display SVGs is actually really
great for OCAL!

When browsing the library before, it'd offer to download the file,
which I'd then have to open in Inkscape. Now they just show up right
in the browser. It removes two or so steps from the process of
browsing the library, making me more likely to do so!

If Firefox could just "save as" into a png, it'd remove another couple
steps and be an invaluable tool for anyone using clipart.

While OCAL and the Firefox projects may not have enough in common to
become affiliates, I think it would be good to list it on the Wiki on
the SVG tools page under viewers (I just added it) and possibly on the
first page of "browse the library". I imagine that some new-commers
get to browse, click a thumbnail, and could get frustrated/confused
about why they can't just browse it.
