Hi all,

There's been a nice upswing in interest in keeping OCAL going, which is
great! The project has been going somewhat dormant due to people
getting busy with other things, being intimidated by the incoming queue,
or whatever, so having some fresh faces in the project to take us
forward is going to be vital.

In my experience, the most important role in an open source project is
the person who "meets and greets" potential new members. I believe that
the first experience a person has with a project is vital, because a
good reception can ensure they stick around, and can help motivate them
to put in extra energy. As well, oftentime new recruits won't be
exactly sure where to help, so people in this "meet and greet" role can
also be useful in helping the new member finding where they fit.

Specifically, right now we need one or two volunteers to serve as
'Account Coordinators'. The main responsibility for this role is to
watch for someone who needs access to the website and/or version control
system, and help them get an account set up. The process is documented
here: http://openclipart.org/wiki/index.php/User_Management

In addition, secondary responsibilities would include hanging out on the
IRC channel to help answer questions (and look for new people who would
like to help with tool development, administration, or clipart
review/repair, and encourage them to get involved.)

If you're interested in taking this role, please let me and rejon know,
and we'll ensure you have the necessary access, provide a reference to
freedesktop.org so they know you'll be the account liaison, etc.

Thanks,
Bryce
