Nice start. For usefulness and increased participation i would think
that styles should appear as a set of clickable links in the upload
page similar to POPULAR TAGS that is currently there. Realize most
people uploading files just pick a word or two without looking at the
existing tags and in many cases the tags field is entirely empty. So
if this is going to be used then it needs to brain-dead easy for the
submitter. And obviously a lot of librarians will need to tag all
the old files.
With our limited people resources, I guess it is really a matter of
priorities. Is it more important to move the 7000+ pieces of old
clipart over and QC and update all of that? Is it making a
hierarchical folder system like the old site had (could the old site
be the skeleton for that? Is it really a good idea or just a way to
have lots of misfiled images). Or is it tagging the current stuff
with style tags?
