While I agree this is a low-priority request after the import is done, I 
can imagine some use cases for it, for example someone creates an 
account and submit some images and forget about the site. After a while 
get again on the site, not remember about the old account and submit 
some more under a new account. Later when remembering, the user may want 
to consolidate the two accounts.

Yeah, not something that is expected to happen often, but if some 
developer want to implement it, why not? Especially since it would be 
very useful for crediting the original authors of the images imported 
from the old site...
