There is no problem as far as I know.
Michael will be able to say so definitively.

The auto script generates new PNG thumbnails on the fly.
It is not a problem for the individual (or the admins for that matter)
people to remove the pngs.
There is just a whole lot of them of course :)

I don't know why the release has been delayed, but I can only guess
there are some background things or time constraints involved.

Maybe someone should make a lits of To Do's so that we can all work
with a plan to get it released?
