That's what I want to happen. At the moment I think Michi said

So those files that only have svg's NOW are fine. The problems ones are
those with png's.
I think we should make a copy of the database, and test it on the BETA site
to see what would happen. I don't want BETA live until we've sorted out many
automatic ways of doing things. Like you said, it is almost opposite of how
we are doing things right now, but I do think the new way is better.
I suggest we do an education campaign soon, perhaps driven by the admins and

This is true, and one possible solution. How does that work with Zip files
though? If we stop multiple downloads, we stop zipped/collections
altogether.

Again how about Zip files on offer in the downloads section? I don't have a
solution to the clipart collections yet. SETS fill in the gap until we find
a better way.
Sort of related issue: I want to see a feature that allows users to download
marked or tagged clipart. For example if someone wants to download all
cliparts with the tag "fruit" then they click on the download button and the
OCAL website makes a zip file for all those. Or if Gerald's cipart is in a
set we can download all the cliparts in that set (Theoretically named
"Gerald's Hotel Icons") then the original uploader doesn't need to upload
them into that one entry.
This means clipart can be uploaded singly (or via the future-mass-upload
feature), and downloaded enmasse, as relevant sets.
I don't even see anything explaining how sets work in the new system. When

As far as I know the SETS are working as intended. I meant "experimental" as
in, we don't really know how to use them in the best way yet. We haven't
used this feature before on the current OCAL. No, they weren't handcoded.
We still need to test the site for admin features as there are lots of admin
abilities missing at the moment.

We do have a good search now on the BETA site. :) Better than current
anyway. The only thing missing at the moment is the ability to search in the
"Featuring" field ( -that is the "collaborating artists" field on the old
OCAL.) But again, testing the BETA on actual data would be better than
guessing - even if it is an educated guess.
