[Clipart] Please Completely Fill Out the Research Survey

Thank you Jon for the very kind introduction. Indeed, Rong and I have been researching the topic of sharing and free culture for quite some time now, doing also a lot of work with and for Creative Commons, and we are now delighted to have your support in investigating how you guys work and how you feel about the open clipart library and your role in it. 

 

I personally really enjoy engaging with online communities and creative contributors such as yourselves, as much as my schedule permits, to learn more about what drives you and what types of relationships you build, if any, through the creative process. We have already had some truly great participation to the survey, though we need more people to stick with it and complete it till the end. It's not that long, and it's designed such that you can skip parts that are not relevant to you. All in all I think it would take about 15-20 minutes, depending on your answers and speed. I know that may be a bit on the long side for some, but a fully completed survey is so much more valuable than an incomplete one, so please do stick with it till the end. 

 

As Jon explained, we will share the results with him and with the rest of you on this list, because much can be learned, especially from complete responses. Once again, my sincere thanks to all who have already contributed, and I look forward to receiving more contributions. The results will be used for research that will be eventually published online and in a scientific journal, so  your help means a lot to us and we will do everything in our power to make it worth your while.

Hi all, please meet my friends Giorgos Cheliotis professor in New Media and Computer Scientist in his own right, and Rong Wang, a graduate student working with Giorgos on doing research on free culture, both at National University of Singapore.

I have known both for a while, and Giorgos for several years because of his excellent research into Creative Commons licensing and free culture. They have both been researching http://ccmixter.org and now are actively researching our community.

There work is quite good. And, it will help us know how we are doing and what is happening in our community. It is a really great effort.

And, we need more people to completely fill out the survey and help get more people onto the link. We will have a release next week and that should give it more of a boost, but please do take the time to completely fill out the survey.

The findings will be shared with us and we can be famous to help out with research that is published publicly :)
