I created a first draft of this, but it's pretty rough.  Someone else
should go over it and bang it into better shape.

I think I covered the first two of those points reasonably well (for a
first draft), but I only touched on the other two very briefly.  

The whole thing needs to be more concise, more clear, and formatted
better.
