hello,
i have been trying to do the following whole day, and it's driving me
crazy :-(
i am installing debian sarge with sid's kde 3.1.4, and i want to use
antialiased fonts. i choose to use the ttf-freefont package
"A set of free high-quality TrueType fonts covering the UCS
character set. These fonts are similar to the (in)famous Helvetica,
Times and Courier fonts."
so I don't have helvetica, charter, and several other fonts. now, kde
out of the box uses helvetica (kdm for example), so i would like to have
this aliased to the freefont equivalent, nimbus sans. some for "fixed" (as
used by konsole), i'd like to have that alias to nimbus mono, or bitstream
vera sans mono. HOW do it do this?? I've been playing with local.conf,
running fc-cache -f, but to no avail... PLEASE HELP!
thanks,
maarten
