Hal can't see my cdwriter!

Hello David!
My system is Gentoo, Hal 0.3 (from cvs) and UDEV  version 025.

This is the output from  'udevinfo -q all -n /dev/hdb' :

bash-2.05b# udevinfo -q all -n /dev/hdb
unable to open udev database
