Configuration questions (fstab and pamconsole)

I'm also an Arch user (and the KDE maintainer) and noticed this, also the 
'managed' option doesn't work with Arch's mount, so the question seems to 
be, what are the minimum requirements (& or patches) for HAL to work with no 
hiccups. 

Also as a side note anyone heard anymore on the KDE-Volume-Manager front, 
it's CVS seems dead and is uncompileable, it was looking promising aside 
from that...
