Name conversion issues - branching RELEASE branch.

We have talked on last Fridays call that we may have to relace 
the string 'XFree86' in several files (including documentation
and binaries) due to trademark issues. JG will check with HP's
IP laywer about this. 
Keithp has searched for occurances of the string in an installed
tree and classified each occurance. A large number of them affect
CVS version strings and copyright messages and the like and should 
be left alone. He sent a report of his findings to this list.

Some of us may have the requirement to have a XFree86-like tree
(ie. a tree where no names have been replaced). It was therefore
agreed that the name appearing in the documantation and binaries
should be a build time configuration. 
I would like to keep the ongoing work on making these name changes
possible an activity that takes place apart from bug fixes in a
separate branch - a branch that gets the bug fixes merged in from
time to time. This would make tracking things easier.
If noone objects I will create the bugfix branch tomorrow morning
my time (when I get to work - which should be around 8 - 9 AM UTC).
