ここって、日本語ありですか?一応英語で書きます。

I'm not too familiar with the internal structure of gtk, but would it be
enough to add a new kind of event? something like "im_key_press" or
"pre_key_press" that would always happen right before the normal key
event. IM's could be built to listen for this and the event engine could
be changed so that if htis event is consumed then the normal key event
is never generated.

I'm not sure if this breaks binary compatibility..
