[Uim] Standalone scm file crashing GTK

That's entirely possible, but UTF-8 should be entirely backwards 
compatible with ASCII, so I don't understand why it should crash.

As you may know, my file even worked when it was initialised through 
hangul.scm, and stopped working when I initialised it on its own.

At any rate, something is clearly wrong here. It might be explained 
somewhere in the wiki at freedesktop.org, but that's in Japanese only, 
so I'll have to get back to that in a years' time.
