Thank you for the reply, but it didn't work like a charm in Mandrake.  I  
got the following message.

bash: /usr/local/lib/gtk-2.0/2.2.0/immodules: Is a directory

And in that directy, I only have im-uim.a, im-uim.la and im-uim.so.  Any  
idea?
