[Uim] m17nlib?

Hi!

While looking for Arabic input methods online for a friend, I noticed 
that uim can take Arabic input from a library called m17nlib. However, 
this library is not available through Gentoo portage, and it's hard to 
find documentation (in gaijinspeak) on how to bind m17nlib to uim.

If m17lib is autodetected by uim's configure script, it should as simple 
as reinstalling uim without the Gentoo sandbox (FEATURES="-sandbox" 
emerge uim ?). Can uim's configure script autodetect m17nlib?
