How about defining of TRUE/FALSE instead of UIM_TRUE/UIM_FALSE?
Following code is copied from glib. Do you think this cause a problem?

#ifndef	FALSE
#define	FALSE	(0)
#endif

#ifndef	TRUE
#define	TRUE	(!FALSE)
#endif
