'What kind of input style does uim support depends on each bridge
implementationl. For example, uim-fep will support only over-the-spot
style, because it can't support on-the-spot style. GTK+ immodule
supports on-the-spot and (incomplete) over-the-spot style.
IMHO each input style is not equal from the point of view of usability.
Best is the on-the-spot style, second best is the over-the-spot style.
Off-the-spot style and root-window style are expedient.
Therefore, my answer is, it need not to be configurable, each bridge
should choose their best input style automatically.
