In order to get wider exposure to the current list of blocker bugs, I
have put together a list of them along with a comment on each (below).
I will keep this list updated and will post it and the bug stats each
night.

We would like to ask your help with the following:

1. Please help us track down solutions for the current blocker bugs
   listed below.
2. If there are other bugs that should be considered blockers, please
add them to bugzilla so that we can track them.

The main release bug is #351:
    https://freedesktop.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=351

Update:
-------
The process for having bugs be considered as release blockers is to set
the bug's "Bug # blocks:" field to the release bug, 351. The release
wranglers will then determine if the bug is one that should hold up the
release or be deferred until after the release. As we are currently in
the code freeze, only major blocker bugs are being considered.

Blocker bug stats:
------------------
Current blocker bugs: 8
     Fixed yesterday: 3
     Added yesterday: 5

Current list of blocker bugs:
-----------------------------
* Bug #999: Release notes/documentation for next release
  - Need someone to start documenting changes for release notes
  - Need to investigate what other documentation changes are needed

* Bug #1029: Hard failure if socket directories cannot be chowned to root
  - This solution breaks on systems that do not have setuid
  - xfs uses xtrans also and since it is not setuid root, it cannot
    chown to root and bails
  - Proposed solutions:
    1. Create a helper program that is setuid root to create dir, or
    2. Revert the change back to X11R6.7 version
    3. Leave hard failure in code

* Bug #1099: Placeholder for for all bugs "held open" but not blocking
  - Each of these could use more investigation

* Bug #1119: Build breaks with UseInstalled* and ProjectRoot set
  - Waiting for patch
  - After patch is attached to bug report, others using UseInstalled
should test the patch to see if it works for them

* Bug #1126: wraphelp.c not in distro
  - Due to US export laws, wraphelp.c has not been included
  - Jim Gettys has begun the process to allow us to include it in future
    releases

* Bug #1137: xterm fix for utmp cleanup
  - Looks like this one is needed
  - Just need a patch

* Bug #1138: Composite crash in Polyline
  - Eric Anholt is investigating

* Bug #1139: SiS driver needs to support 1280x800 LCD panels
  - Change limited to SiS driver only
  - Will review on release wranglers call on Friday
