X Pixmap (Off Screen Window) Resize

Greetings,

I've been trying to determine whether or not X 
Pixmap resize (height/width) is actually supported 
or part of the X Windows Protocol for X11R6. 
It seems that most of the functionality provided 
for normal resource resize requires an actual 
Window as a parameter.  The only documentation
I can find on dealing with dynamic pixmap size 
in an application suggests to destroy the Pixmap 
using XFreePixmap() and to recreate it with new 
size attributes using XCreatePixmap().
