The picture is rolling black-and-white....it just might be in PAL mode now 
that you mention it. There are no BIOS settings that control the TV-out 
function of this laptop. So, is there any way to set the chip to NTSC in X?

Do you know where I can get more information on the error codes it's 
returning, then? I can't tell whether it doesn't detect the TV chip or if 
it's just misconfigured.
