You mean https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1223 ?

It appears to be in the same state as many xorg bugs - too many
bugs, too few people to tackle them all.   The solution is to
stop whining about it, get CVS access, and start helping to commit
the bug fixes yourself.   Otherwise, code sections like this, with
no committed maintainer, only really get fixed when someone who does
have CVS commit rights has an interest or need to fix it.
