What happened to the "XDM-AUTHORIZATION-2" authentification scheme ?

BTW, there is an open bugzilla bug for this work, should anyone
decide to take it on - it's listed as assigned to Jim, but I think
that's just because it got filed against xapps originally instead
of xorg/apps/xdm and Jim was the default owner there.

Since the -2 changes were 2 part, increasing the address size, and
changing the encryption from 3DES to AES, the other obstacle to this
we never got out of the way was finding a suitably licensed and
tested AES implementation. At this point, I'd imagine there are
several good open source candidates to choose from, but someone would
have to research them to determine which fits best with the XDMCP needs.
(Alternatively, convince us that we shouldn't switch to AES - it was
thought to be a good idea by a bunch of people who knew enough
about crypto to know how hard it is to get it right, but not enough
to be absolutely sure we had gotten it right,)
