Creating modes on the fly...

If I wanted to add a patch to add mode lines from the
Detailed Timing (DDC->det_mon[i].type == DT) inside
of xf86SetDDCproperties(), should this primed into
XF86ConfModeLineRec (part of parser/), or into
DisplayModeRec (part of common/) instead?

And how transient is the parser state?  Is it created,
copied over, and then disposed of?  If so, where is it
copied into state elsewhere?  Does that happen in
configMonitor()?  And would it be "clean" architecturally
to have the DDC code prime config (via parser/), or should
it interact directly with common/?
