all I can see in xorg.conf is :-
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Keyboard1"
Driver "kbd"
Option "XkbModel" "pc105"
Option "XkbLayout" "en_US"
Option "XkbOptions" ""

are you referring to /etc/X11/xkb/rules/xorg ? It runs for 40 kb.
can you post your files that fixed this ?
I'm lost among all the parameter files.
