I did a clean X11R6.9 build using the final RC code and am trying to
start X on an Intel platform with a 945G chipset. Right now I just have
the xorg.conf file set to use the "vesa" 2Ddriver. However when I try
and start X, I see:
(II) Loading sub module "vbe"
(II) LoadModule: "vbe"
(II) Loading /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/libvbe.so
(II) Module vbe: vendor="X.Org Foundation"
compiled for 6.9.0, module version = 1.1.0
ABI class: X.Org Video Driver, version 0.8
(II) Loading sub module "int10"
(II) LoadModule: "int10"
(II) Loading /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/linux/libint10.so
(II) Module int10: vendor="X.Org Foundation"
compiled for 6.9.0, module version = 1.0.0
ABI class: X.Org Video Driver, version 0.8
(II) VESA(0): initializing int10
(EE) VESA(0): Cannot map SYS BIOS
(II) UnloadModule: "vesa"
(II) UnloadModule: "int10"
(II) Unloading /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/linux/libint10.so
(II) UnloadModule: "vbe"
(II) Unloading /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/libvbe.so
(EE) Screen(s) found, but none have a usable configuration.
Fatal server error:
no screens found
It's obvious that it cause of failure is:
(EE) VESA(0): Cannot map SYS BIOS
I just wondering if I missing some X11 configuration here ?? The same
system runs X11R6.8.2 just fine. Any hints would be appreciated.
