toolkit with full Xft access?

I'm planning to write small utility like xfontsel, but for Xft
(allowing to playing all the parameters: antialiasing, subpixel
rendering and so on, not the limited choice Gtk/Qt file selectors
provide) and wonder if there any toolkit which does not hide the Xft
mechanism behind the Pango or likewise interfaces, but provides the
full access to the Xft mechanics? Or I have to resort to the plain
Xft/Render API for the rendering?
