special resolution with xorg

Actually, it sounds like Sony's panel isn't responding to EDID requests, or 
that Neomagic chip doesn't support EDID, or the driver for that chip doesn't 
support it... which means Xorg can't autodetect useful information, and 
doesn't know the panel supports 1024x480.
