I have installed and booted a vanilla 18.104.22.168 kernel,
but this does not seem to change anything.
The lockup is quite reproducible: I start the molecular
visualisation program PyMOL (which uses Tcl/Tk, Python and
OpenGL) and open a menu to start a demonstration which
