Hi folks,
as of version 2.0 of the intel driver, I'm not able to use it since I
can't get it to use the native LCD resolution (1680x1050) and produce a
usable picture.
The issue is described here:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10784
Basically, I get 1280x768 with DDC turned off and 1680x1050 with an
error message by the LCD with DDC turned on.
It looks like the LCD gets an invalid signal with DDC turned on. The
Xorg server claims to use a 60 Hz mode, whereas the LCD shows 57 Hz.
Keith suggested to use a special modeline. I put it into my xorg.conf,
but it didn't help. However, the server log didn't even mention this
mode during startup. Is this normal? Or does the intel driver ignore
modelines supplied by the user at all?
I'd like to get a bit input here. Besides hints to tweak the
configuration, I'd also like to receive input (hints, example configs)
from people with the following scenarios:
1. anyone who uses intel graphics (mine is a i945 chipset) and the
intel driver with version >= 2.0 with a user defined modeline for
the DVI output
2. anyone who uses an Eizo S2110W with the intel driver >= 2.0 and is
able to get a useable picture at 1680x1050
Regards,
Tino
