Hmm. I have this change in the SUSE package:
* Fri Jul 01 2005 - lnussel at suse.de
- new version 1.55 uses automake and proper optflags

I don't remember where that version came from though. Maybe from the
old jumpbump.mine.nu site. That version also contains some code
changes AFAICT.
