[gst-devel] popt/GOption and not moving to glib2.6

While I was looking through Marlin I realised that GStreamer is the
building block that is stopping many applications[1] moving to the
much nicer GOption from glib2.6. As gtk is moving towards GOption and
that will probably be the advised way to parse options in the near
future, would it not make sense to move to 2.6 and port GStreamer to
use them as well for 0.10, especially if we[2] are aiming for it to be
taken as the multimedia platform for gnome's future?

I know I can't make any demands, and if this email sounds like it,
then I'm blaming it on me coming down with the flu...

[1] Marlin and Totem I know of, I guess Sound-Juicer as well
[2] I say 'we' like I am actually still a part of this community :)
