[gst-devel] why I cannot play vedio in DFB

Hi Vivian,

You need to download and install the DirectFB library from directfb.org.
Then you need to change your boot loader configuration file to include a vga
configuration (use vga=791 for 1024x768 resolution), and set the runlevel to
3. When you reboot, you should be able to see a penguin at startup. You
should also be able to run dfbdump and dfbg etc. After you are sure that
directfb is installed properly, you need to rebuild gst-plugins-bad. That
would install dfbvideosink.

Hope this helps. You might find some hurdles in getting to run directfb, but
there should be plenty of help available on the internet.
